At Picaresque, we believe in supporting the next generation of game developers. That is why we are proud to announce that our own Daniele Monaco recently served as a juror for the fifth edition of the Phaser Game Jam, held on March 13–14, 2026, at the PalaUnisa Campus in Baronissi.

Organized by the I.I.S. “Margherita Hack” and the HackFarm E.T.S. association, the intense 48-hour hackathon challenged over 26 high school teams to build a complete, original video game from scratch using the Phaser JS framework, based on the theme (R)Evolution.

Daniele had the inspiring task of evaluating these projects, judging them on technical execution, game design, creativity, and the students’ final pitches to industry experts. From strategy games inspired by cellular evolution to complex survival simulators, the quality of work was outstanding—a true testament to the 60-hour preparatory course the students completed prior to the event.

Participating in initiatives like the Phaser Game Jam perfectly aligns with our commitment to nurturing the local tech ecosystem. A huge congratulations to all the winning teams, the dedicated participants, and the organizers for fostering such a fantastic environment for innovation!
