The prestigious Representation Room of the Castello Normanno del Guiscardo in Caggiano (Salerno) recently hosted an inspiring study seminar dedicated to the intersection of technological innovation and cultural heritage. The event served as a powerful testament to how digital transformation, when driven by local collaboration, can breathe new life into historical territories. We were thrilled to see XRTourGuide at the center of this conversation, demonstrating its potential as a true collaborative model to enhance and promote rural areas.
During the seminar, experts, local institutions, and community members gathered to explore how Extended Reality (XR) can fundamentally redefine the way we experience places steeped in history and tradition. Far from being just a passive technological tool, XRTourGuide was presented as a participatory platform. By actively involving the local community in the co-creation of immersive digital content, the project ensures that the unique identity, local knowledge, and authentic narratives of the territory are preserved and seamlessly shared with visitors.
The enthusiasm, deep engagement, and synergy witnessed in Caggiano perfectly capture the spirit of our work within the FUTURAL sub-project.
